We work in conjunction with nine referral agencies to ensure individuals and families are signposted to the relevant services, care and support options that may benefit them. We supply furniture and household goods to those referred to us by these agencies and we work directly with these families and individuals to ensure they obtain the essential items they require.

The above agencies recognise the support needed when families and individuals are in receipt of Government benefits or have low income and need help to furnish their home.

The Household Fund aims to provide a contribution of crisis support to vulnerable households in most need, with the cost of essentials.
It is intended to help residents who do not have enough resources to meet immediate short term needs and who require assistance with essential items:

This service enables eligible Lancashire residents with no other means of support, to access essential furniture and domestic appliances, and then access additional support services, if necessary.
The aims of Under One Roof are to:
- Help service users maintain or establish a home by providing them with essential household items that meet their individual needs.
- Reduce household waste by increasing the use of second-hand household goods in Lancashire.
- Help service users to feel more secure, be more resilient, and live more independently in their communities.
- Help service users to understand their wider needs and access additional sources of support.

The Preston Relief in Need Charity provides relief to persons resident in the City Of Preston, who are in need, hardship, sick, convalescent, disabled, handicapped or infirm, by providing assistance to reduce the need, hardship, suffering and/or to assist the recovery of such persons in such cases.
The Charity is supported by nine Trustees of whom the Mayor of Preston and Rector of Preston (St. John) are ex-officio Trustees.
The Trustees meet every ten weeks and successful applications completed and submitted by approved referral agencies, will be notified as soon as possible after the meeting dates.
The Harris Charity (Click the link)
The Harris Charity can help young people under the age of 25 years, who live in Lancashire (with priority given to those living in the Preston District.) The Trustees have wide powers of discretion to relieve need, hardship and distress, and to promote activities for social and community wellbeing.
Both individuals and charitable groups working for the benefit of under 25’s are eligible for assistance.
